Getting towards the end of this week of productivity tracking; here's how I spent a fairly typical Friday.
Morning (pre-work) productivity: 0.5 hours
I just got a bit of the usual busywork done this morning -- dictation-editing, emails, and reading up on a couple of things before clinic.
At work: 10 hours
A typical day -- clinic, radiation planning, and academic half-day lectures.
Evening (post-work) productivity: 2 hours
I stayed at work for an extra hour to finish a physics assignment, then headed home to make dinner and work out on the elliptical (basically just an excuse to watch trashy TV). Then I spent an hour downloading a few journal articles which I should probably read (at a less lazy time) and looking up a couple things I'd long forgotten from radiobiology. This all transpired whilst sitting in bed; it was more than I could handle to bring myself to my desk and get in any proper work.
Overall productivity: mediocre
Not a particularly productive Friday, but such is life. Generally I know that the only times I'm productive on Friday evenings are when I stay at work or head to the library, or when desperation hits pre-exams.
