MEDICAL SCHOOL

I completed a four-year MD program in British Columbia, the first two years lecture-based and the second two hospital-based. Canada has fourteen medical schools with English curricula and three with French curricula. Apart from three-year programs at Calgary and McMaster, programs are four years long. Admission processes vary by medical school, but are generally similar. Here are posts based on my experiences in medical school:

For anyone relocating to Alberta for medical school, here's some hopefully helpful information on registering your vehicle/getting a driver's license and signing up for provincial health care.

  1. Hi !
I'm a 2nd year Canadian (Qc) medical student (starting rotations next year) and I am so glad I found your blog. I've read a few of your articles and I can really relate to you, I feel like we have a similar personnality.
I love to read about the experiences of other people in medical school/residency (rotations, interviews, etc). Being an anxious person, it helps me feeling more relaxed about the future, because I can have a better idea of what is ahead of me haha

Looking forward to read more of your blog posts!

    1. Hi! Yay, a fellow Canadian! Thank you for the kind comment :) So exciting that you'll be starting rotations soon! Everyone's a little anxious at the start of clerkship (even the ones who won't admit it...) but I'm sure you'll find it rewarding to finally apply what you've been learning in lectures. Just approach each day being interested, enthusiastic, and kind, and I know you'll do awesome!
